About
Above all other roles, I consider myself an artist first and foremost.
The act of creating is a direct connection to the divine, a portal that reveals the intricacies of existence. I am deeply indebted to the spiritual tools I have studied that purify that portal, including yogic practices, meditation, ceremonial ritual, etc.
For me, sound is the closest thing I have experienced to raw, human emotion. As a heart-centered individual, my work as a sound artist is the most expressive and resonant of my being. I relish the opportunity to let my poems become lyrics and my voice become the messenger. Sound has the capacity to heal and connect in extremely intimate ways. Whether I’m guiding a sound bath, writing music, or dancing at a concert, I know that these experiences are the closest connection to the divine that I have experienced thus far.
My work as a visual artist came to life in 2019 and burst into aliveness during the pandemic. Most of my work has been in oil painting but I also work with gouache on found items such as tote bags, clothing, pots, and more. I see life as a canvas and let my thoughts become the colors and shapes that bring it to life. For me, visual art allows my thought processes to manifest into image, color, and texture.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Studies and Creative Writing from SUNY New Paltz. The artistic community in New Paltz, NY was vibrant and like no other place I’ve been. I felt personal and creative challenges arise during my time there and it helped shape into the artist I am today. I worked on dramaturgy and playwriting primarily but also studied acting, directing, and poetry.
