Welcome to my blog!

Hello! Welcome to my blog. This is where I’ll be recording my new findings, revelatory discoveries, introspective musings, and joyful antics. I’m starting this blog as a way to share, learn, and grow both through my research and real-life experiences. I aim to use this platform as a way to integrate my learning with the world around me. Where do these lessons guide me? How do I embody my beliefs?

I want this space to be one where I can explore the darker side of the universe while sharing my experiences with you. On the flip side, I’d also like to use this space to also embrace the lighter parts of our lives. In doing so, I’d like to welcome the balance of life, the dance between yin & yang, and the rainbow of colors that follow.

As a creative person, I want these posts to take form in whatever fashion they manifest in. Some days I may be blunt, forward and others I may be more elusive and poetic in my language. Both are equally authentic.  I don’t want to be anything I’m not here. This is my opportunity to share who I am in a very real way.

Here are some facts about me:

#1: My love for writing stems from my love of music. I tried so many times to learn guitar but I lacked the discipline and consistency for years. Showing up to something new has always been hard for me. My goal was to write lyrics more than anything so I turned to poetry. Until the past few years, my creative work was primarily poetry. I’m fascinated by the rhythm, the imagery, and both the limitations and poetry’s ability to say so much using so little.

#2: I’m really interested in the Mahavidyas and hope to study them more in the future. More on that to come.

#3: I LOVE dogs. A lot. I have a 15-year-old chihuahua named Timko and he is my best friend. I’m excited for a future where I have a pack of small dogs following me around the house.

#4: I feel most at peace in nature. I love the summer sun, fresh air, grass, and birds. Mother Earth’s power over me is tremendous. Her warmth makes me feel light.

#5: In addition to my yoga/writing pursuits, I am also a theatre artist! I study theatre studies at SUNY New Paltz and have done dramaturgy and directing. I’ve also done some producing for a student club. Some of my favorite plays are For Colored Girls, Normal Heart, and Every Brilliant Thing. Hopefully, I can share some of that work soon.

Thank you so much for reading. More to come soon.

Love, Natalya
